Conquer Teide: Cable car and hike to the top of Teide Peak crater From North of Tenerife
TF-21 motorway, km 43, Teide National Park, La Orotava - Tenerife
Embark on an Adventure to Spain’s Highest Peak and Discover Teide’s Crater at 3718 Meters. Relish breathtaking views from the cable car and join an unforgettable hiking experience.
To ensure you get the most out of your hiking activity to ascend Teide’s peak with the Cable Car, we recommend that you:
Therefore, do not litter, remove stones, plants, or animals, start fires, camp, or make loud noises.
We will pick you up by bus from various designated locations at the agreed time and head towards Teide National Park, where the cable car ride begins. Alternatively, if you choose the option without pickup during the reservation process, you can make your own way to the specified meeting point.
The cable car ride lasts about 10 minutes, ascending over 1000 meters to reach the upper station situated at 3555 meters above sea level.
We will admire the impressive landscape and begin our hike along the Telesforo Bravo trail, which will take us to the top of the volcano. An official permit is required for this hike, but don't worry, we'll take care of applying for it for you
Hiking over half a kilometer uphill, you’ll notice the scent of sulfur in the air, a reminder of the volcano’s activity. The vibrant rocks, the surrounding views, and the achievement of reaching Spain’s highest peak will leave you with unforgettable memories.
After a 40-minute hike, we’ll arrive at the vast crater of Teide. Feel free to shout, "I’m the King of the world!" On clear days, you’ll see the peaks of neighboring islands like La Gomera, El Hierro, La Palma, and Gran Canaria. You will be thrilled!
We will then begin our descent back to the cable car. We’ll take the cabins down to the base station, where the bus will be waiting to return us to the starting points, concluding the five-hour tour.
Reservation confirmation is not immediate, as a special permit from the national park is required to ascend Teide’s peak. It takes approximately 72 hours to approve the permit once it has been requested, and during the reservation process, you will be asked to provide the necessary information to process the application.
Once we receive your reservation, we will process the permit and confirm your booking upon obtaining authorization. If you don’t receive final confirmation within 72 hours, please contact us to check the status of your request.
Please note that we will not be able to confirm your reservation for the hiking activity to ascend Teide with the Cable Car until we have issued the access permits for the crater in your name.
If we are unable to confirm your reservation, we will offer you an alternative date or a refund of the amount paid.
Additionally, due to the operation of the National Park’s permit system, once we have confirmed your reservation for this activity, it cannot be canceled under any circumstances.
It is essential to present your ID or passport at the access point to the crater trail.
In the event that the trail to the peak is closed, the Teide National Park staff may allow access only to registered mountaineers who can adequately justify their capabilities and possess the necessary equipment (mountaineering gear, specifically boots, crampons, and an ice axe). It is the client’s responsibility to have this documentation and equipment, and their absence releases Volcano Teide staff from any liability.
The ascent to the peak is a hike lasting approximately 2 hours (round trip) and is of high difficulty. Therefore, good physical condition is required. If the guide determines that your physical condition is not adequate and sees it necessary for your safety, they may request that you leave the trail or the activity.
Individuals with cardiovascular issues, pregnant women, and those with reduced mobility are not permitted to ride the cable car.
Non-refundable. This activity does not allow for cancellations or modifications.
Pickup times generally range between 6:55 and 9:25 a.m. We will inform you of the exact time before the excursion, as it may slightly vary. When booking, please select one of the pickup points available in the Southern municipalities of Tenerife.
